Vegetarian Cutlets for Everyday Use Ingredients

Looking for a very simple and delicious recipe for vegetable cutlets? This recipe might just become your favorite. The ingredients for these patties are usually found in the kitchen, so this recipe is very easy to prepare.

Oatmeal Cutlets

1 cup rolled oats

1 cup cornflakes

1 medium onion

1 and 1/2 tablespoons flour

1/4 cup butter

2/3 cup of milk

2 eggs

1 teaspoon of sage

Salt to taste

1 can of mushroom soup

Sauté onion (or microwave) until soft. Combine all ingredients except mushroom soup and mix well. Pour 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil (enough to cover the bottom) into a large frying pan. Pour the amount of cutlets into the pan and cook until firm and golden on the bottom. Turn the cutlets over and flatten them with a spatula. Continue cooking until the underside is golden brown and the center of the patty is cooked. When the cutlets are done, pour in the diluted mushroom soup and heat until the soup is bubbling.

Serve with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and salad.

This is a very popular dish in our house. If there is anything left over from a previous meal, we often add cooked rice. In addition, mushroom soup can be used as a topping for mashed potatoes. If you wish, you can also bake the patties instead of frying them. Place the cooked patties in a 9 x 9 pan, pour in the mushroom soup, and bake until tender. Also, this recipe was made with soy milk and egg substitute powder, so vegans can adapt it for their own use.

Makes 8-10 small pies.

Variations.

1. Add 1 can of mushrooms to the soup.

2. Place grilled cutlets in an ovenproof dish, place a slice of cooked onion between each cutlet and pour in the soup.

3. Replace mushroom soup with celery soup or brown gravy.

Add finely chopped nuts.

Replace sage and salt with spices or other condiments of your choice.
